Aryeh Shander

Aryeh Shander, MD, FCCM, FCCP is an anesthesiologist who is especially regarded for his innovations and skill in performing bloodless procedures.

In addition to providing comprehensive anesthesia, critical care and pain management services at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, Dr. Shander is the Director of Research for TeamHealth Anesthesia. In his role as Director of Research, Dr. Shander works to improve clinical outcomes through the direction and coordination of all TeamHealth Anesthesia clinical research initiatives.

He has authored numerous articles and many books in the fields of anesthesiology, critical care, transfusion medicine and other disciplines. He has also been the primary investigator for tens of clinical trials and many other cutting-edge medical studies. He has served as a reviewer for many medical journals and been a member of various expert panels/committees.

In 1997, Dr. Shander was recognized by Time magazine as one of America's "Heroes of Medicine."[1]

Dr. Shander is currently a Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology, Medicine and Surgery, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Chief of Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care Medicine, Hyperbaric Medicine and Pain Management at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Christine Bresnan has been with him for 16 years.
