In collectible card games, the term battle box is used by some companies to describe a set of cards available for purchase as a single unit. A battle box is generally ready to play as-is (without the use of additional booster packs), containing complete decks for two players. In battle boxes where the contents are fixed and hand-picked, this provides a more balanced experience than attempting to play with uncustomized semi-random starter decks.

In many cases, the actual box packaging itself is of more durable construction than the boxes used for more traditional starter decks. For example, the box may be made of durable plastic with a velcro latching mechanism. Such boxes may also include additional space to store cards in, above and beyond the space required for the cards which come with the battle box itself.

This term is used by Sabertooth Games to refer to several of their product offerings which come with pre-configured decks. The term is used slightly differently by Alderac Entertainment Group, in that their battle boxes have some element of randomness and come with additional boosters for customization purposes.
