Bengali Indo-Portuguese Creole[citation needed] was an Indo-Portuguese creole spoken in various cities in Bengal, in India and Bangladesh: Calcutta, Balasore, Pipli, Chandernagore, Chittagong, Midnapore, Hugli, Dacca.[1] The language was formed from contact between the Portuguese and Bengali languages.[2] It is now extinct.
