Buddleja davidii 'Raspberry Wine' is a cultivar raised by Carroll Gardens Inc. (ceased trading 2009), Westminster, Maryland, USA, in 1994. [1]
Description
'Raspberry Wine' is distinguished by its large, fragrant panicles of deep mauve flowers with golden yellow eyes and ruffled florets, a rare if not unique flower combination, although Dirr considers the plant very similar to 'Summer Rose'. [1] [2]
Cultivation
'Raspberry Wine' has enjoyed much success on both sides of the Atlantic, coming second overall in the public popularity polls held as part of the Royal Horticultural Society Buddleja trials at Wisley from 2008 to 2010, after 'Miss Ruby'. [3] [1] Hardiness: USDA zones 6–9. [4]
