Chakrala
Chakrala[1] (Urdu: چكڑالا), is the oldest and the largest village seat of Punjabi Hindu Community Chikar(surname Chakravarty), of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Chakrala is also a Union Council, (administrative subdivision) of Mianwali Tehsil[2] and is located 10 miles (16 km) away from the Mianwali Talagang road.
The area is mostly inhabited by Awan tribe[citation needed], although some other tribes are also living here[citation needed]. This village is the birthplace of late Lance-Naik Syed Sher Shah (VC), a soldier of the British Indian Army who distinguished himself in World War II, in the Burma campaign.[3]

Chakrala is located at 32°49' N, 71°52' E, over the Potohar.[1]
