Clathrina is a genus of calcareous sponge in the family Clathrinidae. Several species formerly in Clathrina were transferred to the newly erected genera Arthuria, Ernstia, Borojevia, and Brattegardia in 2013.[2] The name is derived from the Latin word "clathratus" meaning "latticed".
Description
Calcinea in which the cormus comprises anastomosed tubes. A stalk may be present. The skeleton contains regular (equiangular and equiradiate) and/or parasagittal triactines, to which diactines and tripods may be added. Asconoid aquiferous system.[3]
