Veterinary College, Anjora was established on 8 September 1985. It is affiliated to Chhattisgarh Kamdhenu University and is the only veterinary college of the state of Chhattisgarh. The degree provided is Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H.), which is an integrated course. B.V.Sc is equivalent to DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine). The campus extends to 586 acres along the bank of the Shivnath river. The dean of the college is Dr. Sita prasad tiwari.

The college has a small dairy, a pig unit, a goat unit, and under construction, a horse stable. It has the largest herd of Sahiwal cattle in the country. The dairy is a grazing type dairy.
