Croton punctatus, commonly called Beach-tea,[1] is a species of flowering plant in the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae). It is native eastern to the Western Hemisphere, where it is found in coastal areas from the Southeastern United States south to Columbia, as well as in Bermuda and the Caribbean.[2][3] Its natural habitat on beaches and sand dunes.[4]

Croton punctatus is a dense, suffrutescent herbaceous plant. Its broad leaves have a notably silvery appearance. It produces small, inconspicuous flowers throughout the year.[1]
