Farm to Market Road 2007 (FM 2007) is a Farm to Market Road in the U.S. state of Texas maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The road, located in southeastern Reeves County, connects Reeves County Road 112 (CR 112) northward to U.S. Route 285 (US 285) between Pecos and Fort Stockton. FM 2007 was previously the name of a former route in Hardeman County.

Route description

FM 2007 begins along CR 112 immediately west of the northern end of CR 111. The two-lane route proceeds to the north and northeast to US 285 where the FM 2007 ends 18.0 miles (29.0 km) southeast of Pecos. The rural route passes through no cities or towns.[1][2][3]

History

FM 2007 was originally designated in 1952 as a route in Hardeman County beginning at US 287 8.0 miles (12.9 km) east of Quanah and extending 3.4 miles (5.5 km) to the north. In 1954, the route was extended northward an additional 1.4 miles (2.3 km).[1] The route designation was cancelled and the roadway was combined as an extension to FM 2006 in 1961.[1][4]

The current route was designated along its entire present alignment in 1962.[1]
