Summary
Photo of "Applause" by Edward Onslow Ford, companion piece to "The Singer". Like its companion, the statue is 50% lifesize and cast using the lost-wax method. Previously in private hands, this work has now been donated to the Tate and was reinstalled in the Walk Through British Art: 1890 room in December 2012. Owing to the difficulties of shooting handheld in artificial light various tweaks and colour/contrast corrections have been performed, and the overall image has been lightened to emphasise detail in the figure. A version of this photo has appeared on Flickr under my username Ketrin1407.
