Fouzan, also spelled Fawzan, Fowzan, and Fauzan, is an Arabic name meaning "successful", "success", "victorious", or "victor". The root word is "fouz", and the tense is symbolized by the "an". In the Arabic language, there is a single and plural tense, as well as a dual tense. The suffix, "an", represents the dual tense of a word. Therefore, the true meaning of "Fouzan" is a dual success.

The term is derived from the Arabic Qur'an, which was revealed in the Seventh Century Common Era/AD, and appears multiple times in the Revelation of God, in the form of Fouzan-Azeema. (48:5) Which means "Great Success" and is always used in the context of the description of the everlasting eternal success which is a result of the individual who remains dedicated to God, and attains paradise fohimself.

Perhaps the most well known individual who posseses the honor of such a name is a Muslim American Civil Rights Activist named Fouzan A. Quaiser (b. September 23rd 1985) in the outskirts of Chicago to immigrant Indian parents from Hyderabad, India. Allegedly, he is Sicilian-Italian matrilinearly, as rumors dictate that his grandparents were brought to India by the Nizam ul Mulk, Osman Ali Khan, the last autonomous ruler of India. Quaiser initiated a project in 2005 to legalize medical Marijuana in America, which has been extremely successful.

Fouzan-Azeem is not his birth name, however, his name was taken from these Quranic verses. In 2009, Quaiser took his own initiative, to begin substantial research in psychiatry, through an act of Illinois law, to gain his residency as a Doctor of Medicine, through the Illinois Forensic Psychiatry Initiative, through the University of Illinois at Chicago.

In 2014, the civil rights activist began a campaign to raise awareness of the rights of all Americans, especially those who have documented medical conditions. While Quaiser did not deliberately inform anyone of his endeavors, he sought to prove a point about bullying, amongst other things, which landed him in jail illegally. Fouzan . Fouzan is now suing those responsible for $31 Million USD, as of November 2015, giving new meaning to the word success.
