Hanan
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
Hanan is a name of Semitic origin. In Hebrew it is a masculine name, of the meaning "God is gracious", "gracious gift of God". In Arabic it is a feminine name and has a completely different root, it means "tenderness". The name John is speculated to derive, via Latin and Greek, from the Hebrew name Yochanan meaning "Yahweh is gracious".[citation needed]
The Irish name Hanan is a variety of Hannon/Hannan, derived from O'Annáin, an ancient Irish sept which fought alongside Brian Boru at the battle of Clontarf.[citation needed]
