Jill Upson is a Republican Delegate-elect of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 65th district, which includes Jefferson County, West Virginia. Upson is the first black Republican woman elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates.[2][3]

In the 2014 election, Upson defeated the Democratic incumbent Tiffany Lawrence even though Lawrence raised more money for her campaign.[4][5] Upson won the 2014 election 56 to 44 percent.[6] GOPAC, the national Republican political action committee, gave over $20,000 to Upson for her 2014 race against Lawrence.[7]

Upson challenged Lawrence in 2012 and lost 52 to 48 percent.[8]
