Jordan Canning

Jordan Canning (born August 3, 1982) is a Canadian film director and writer. She has directed over a dozen short films which have screened and at festivals all over the world including the Toronto International Film Festival,[1] the Tribeca Film Festival and Interfilm Berlin.

Early life

Canning was born in Newfoundland.

Career

Canning worked at the St. John's International Women's Festival and wrote film reviews for local newspapers. She also worked as a Film Analyst, categorizing films for Netflix.[2]

Canning's films have won a number of awards, including two Golden Sheaf Awards,[3][4] three awards at the NSI Online Short Film Festival,[5] and top prize at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival RBC Emerging Filmmaker Competition.[6][7] In 2015, Canning was awarded the Women In the Director's Chair Feature Film Award.[8]

Canning's 2014 film We were Wolves screened at the Toronto Film Festival and is distributed by Video Services Corp.[1]
