History
The formation of the unit was announced on February 2, 2013, at a Hello! Project concert held at the Main Hall of the Fukuoka Convention Center. It was revealed that the unit would consist of six members: five Hello! Project trainees Akari Uemura, Sayuki Takagi, Karin Miyamoto, Aina Ōtsuka, Tomoko Kanazawa and of Yuka Miyazaki.[3]
On February 25, 2013, the new group's name was revealed to be Juice=Juice. It was also announced that the group would immediately release its first single,[4] and on March 2 would debut live at a series of Hello! Project concerts called Hello! Project Haru no Dai Kansha Hinamatsuri Festival 2013.[1] On March 2 and 3, Juice=Juice performed at the forementioned concert series, where the group premiered their upcoming single "Watashi ga Iu Mae ni Dakishimenakya ne".[5]
On July 5, 2013, Aina Ōtsuka resigned from both Juice=Juice and Hello! Project Kenshūsei, bringing the member count to five.[6]
