Karymsky Lake is a crater lake located in the Karymsky volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia. With a radius of 5 km it was once one of the world's largest fresh water lakes[citation needed], but as a result of a recent[when?] eruption toxic gases turned this into one of the largest acid water lakes.
