Kuala Sungai Baru is a small town in Alor Gajah district, Malacca, Malaysia. Kuala Sungai Baru is situated midway between Kuala Linggi and Pengkalan Balak. The nearest town is Masjid Tanah approximately 15 kilometers. The economic activities in Kuala Sungai Baru is mainly fishing, where many small boats parking at the town's river but with fishmongers from all across Melaka coming here to buy the sea products. The town is quite bustle during the day especially around peak hours making traffic jams is a must.[1]

This area is famous with Malaysian's film maker as the location of their films. It still maintains its Malay's traditional houses, beautiful beaches and the traditional kampungs. Throughout the year, the people here can meet the actor or actress shooting their film in this very cowboy town.

Education

Kuala Sungai Baru is famous for Malaccans with Melaka International Islamic College of Technology (MIITECH) or Kolej Universiti Islam Melaka (KUIM), the state government's college. The Malaysian Maritime Academy or Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) is also located here too.
