Lego Scooby-Doo! Haunted Hollywood is a 2016 animated direct-to-video horror-comedy film and the twenty-fifth film in the direct-to-video series of Scooby-Doo films and the first movie based on the Scooby-Doo brand of Lego. It was released on DVD, Blu-ray and digitally on May 10, 2016.[3] The plot revolves around the gang trying to rescue an old movie studio, which is not only threatened by developers, but a series of movie monsters, too.[4] The first trailer was released on February 23, 2016.[5]

Plot

While trying to solve the mystery of a sea creature whose haunting a lighthouse, Shaggy Rogers complains to Scooby-Doo about how Fred Jones, Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley are always bribing them to be bait with Scooby Snacks. So Shaggy decides never to eat another Scooby Snack ever again and urges Scooby to do the same thing. After they've solved the mystery, the gang go to the malt shop where Shaggy and Scooby eat tons of hamburgers that were supposed to be a hamburger eating contest and win the whole gang a trip to Hollywood.

Once they arrive there, Fred decides they should visit Brickton Studios, an old monster movie making studio that has fallen on hard time and about to be closed for good. The studio's employee Junior welcomes them and offers to give them a tour. Joining them on the tour is Atticus Fink, a developer who wants to buy the studio and bulldoze down. Shaggy soon realizes that Brickton Studios has made many horror movies he likes, such movies about Zombies, Mummies and even a movie about the Headless Horseman. During the tour, they drive their tout truck through a dark room, causing Mr. Fink to leave. After Fink leaves, The Headless Horseman appears and chases the gang.

After they escape, they go to see Chet Brickton, the manager, about their encounter. Mr. Brickton tells that all the monsters in those movies were played by the same man. a famous actor named Boris Karnak, who died years ago and that his ghost might have come back to haunt the studios through the costumes of all the monsters he played as, in addition to the headless horseman, there have also been sightings of a Mummy and a Zombie, which is why he must the studio to Mr. Fink. The gang offer to help Mr. Brickton solve the mystery, much to Shaggy and Scooby's dismay.

But first they go to the set of the movie the studio is currently working on which is a romantic comedy, not a horror film, which Junior is not happy with. Suddenly the Headless Horseman attacks the set and ruins it, making Mr. Brickton forlon. The gang offers to help him finish the movie. Mr. Brickton makes Fred the director and makes Shaggy the star. Daphne, who would like to be a movie star, is disappointed about Shaggy getting the lead but plans to the female lead. However Mr. Brickton lets TV show talk host Drella Diabolique have the lead, to Daphne's dismay. Daphne is sad that she doesn't have any leading role but Fred promises to give her some screen time. After a long film making process with has Daphne trying to steal the spot light, A Mummy attacks the movie set and chases the gang off.

Afterwards Fred and Velma go to look for some clues, which Daphne and Drella talk about movie star life, Shaggy and Scooby played with some costumes. When the team goes back to film the movie, and Fred (who has let being a director go to his head) has added a plane to one of the scenes. Suddenly the Headless Horseman appears with a Zombie. After Scooby has a wild ride on the plane and the monsters disappear, Mr. Brickton reluctantly signs the studio over to Mr. Fink, much to Junior's Sadness. Velma then tells that the Headless Horseman and the Zombie appeared at the same time, meaning the ghost of Boris Karnak can't be in two places at once. With that gang goes to capture the monsters and solve the mystery.

The gang heads back to the studio and with Drella's help, they are able to catch the Zombie and the Headless Horseman, with Shaggy and Scooby being bait without Scooby Snacks. After catching the monsters, they gang takes them to Mr. Brickton and the police. The Headless Horseman is revealed to be Mr. Fink who used the costume to get the studio and it worked. However Daphne tells Mr. Fink that he violated a specific clause on the studio contract, making it null and void. And the zombie is revealed to be Junior, who was also the Mummy. Junior tells them he is actually Boris Karnak Jr., the son of Boris Karnak. Junior wanted to carry on his father's legacy after his death. Mr. Brickton orders the police to take Mr. Fink always and allows to go free but they still don't know how to save Brickton studios. Then they realize that the studio security cameras got the gang being chased by the monsters and decide to make that into a movie, which could save the studio. At the movie premiere, people offer Shaggy and Scooby some Scooby snacks. At first they refuse but then they realize that they were bait without them. So they decide to eat Scooby Snacks again. The movie ends with the gang taking a selfie with Mr. Brickton, Junior and Drella.
