Lehal (also spelled as Leihl, Lail, Lehel and Lahil) is a family name (surname).
Lehal or Lail is the family name of the Jat people in India and Pakistan.[1] It is also used among their diaspora. The surname is also found in United Kingdom. Various people in United States use it as Lail, which is Americanized form of German Lehl. Lehel or Lehl also found in Germany, Romania and Hungary.
Notable people
- Dr. Gurpreet Singh Lehal is a professor at Punjabi University, Patiala, and is credited with designing Punjabi language software that enables users to utilise the language with computers. Lehal also developed software to convert English to both Punjabi and Urdu, as well as vice versa.[2][3]
