Long Lake Library

Long Lake Library is a public library in Long Lake, Minnesota. It is located on 1865 Wayzata Boulevard West.[1] Long Lake Library moved to its current location in 1995.[2] The Library is settled in a commercial storefront in the Town Center Mall. For many decades the Library had operated out of several locations. Some of its previous locations included Orono Shopping Mall, a one-room stucco building behind the Long Lake Presbyterian church[3], the old Gordon Building[4] and Long Lake Bank Building.[5] The Long Lake Bank Building was the Library’s first location beginning in 1913. The Library provides computer, internet and printing services to its patrons.

The Library serves a smaller community in western Hennepin County outside of the metropolitan area. In 1985 the Library and Medina library, a library of similar size, had abruptly closed due to County budget cuts.[6] The library would reopen at a new location in 1986 at the Orono Shopping Mall.[7] Long Lake Library would remain at the Orono Shopping Mall until it moved to its current location in the Long Lake Town Center Mall.
