Marcin Leopolita (also Marcin z Lwowa; Lwów, now Lviv, Ukraine, 1537 – ca. 1584) - one of the most eminent Polish composers of 16th century. He studied in the Kraków University (Collegium Maius) and at the age of 20 was already a member of royal music ensemble at the court of King Zygmunt August.[1] There are only a few compositions of Leopolita that remained to our times: 5 religious motets and one mass "Missa paschalis".
