Maria Katharina Prestel (22 July 1747 – 16 March 1794) was a painter and engraver from Nuremberg, active in London.
Prestel was born in Nuremberg where she became a pupil of Johann Gottlieb Prestel. She married him in 1772 but the couple separated when she moved to London in 1786. There she worked for John Boydell making aquatints.[1] Her painting Gypsies on a Common was included in the 1905 book Women Painters of the World.[2] Prestel died in Greater London.
