Mihály Gáber

Mihály Gáber (Slovene: Miháo Gaber; c. 1753 – September 13, 1815) was a Slovene Roman Catholic priest, writer and the best friend of Miklós Küzmics. Küzmics was the standardizator of the Hungarian Slovene language, in this work Gáber also helped.
Born was in Dolnji Slaveči, Küzmics was his friend since his childhood. His title for the priesthood was given in 1777 in Szombathely. In September and December was administrator in Pertoča, in 1778–1779 chaplain in Gornji Petrovci. Until his death the priest of Martjanci.
Gáber helped Küzmics's program. Küzmics wrote the first catholic prekmurian books and tried to use less foreign (primarily Kajkavian) words. Through Gáber many elements from the dialect of the Martjanci Parish have been transferred to the literary language. János Szily, the Bishop of Szombathely encouraged them to translate the Bible, but Küzmics and Gáber's tongue was not enough opportunities.
Gáber also wrote some catholic prekmurian hymn.
