Miloslav Ransdorf

Miloslav Ransdorf (born 15 February 1953 in Rakovník) is a Czech politician and Member of the European Parliament for the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia; part of the European United Left–Nordic Green Left party group in the European Parliament.[1]

Controversies

He was videotaped, by Dutch newsblog Geenstijl, checking in at the European Parliament to claim 304 euro daily expenses fee and immediately leaving. When confronted, Ransdorf became aggressive and assaulted the reporter by attempting to push his microphone out of the way.[2]

Ransdorf has been detained in Switzerland with three other men from Slovakia in Zurich after trying to withdraw 350 million euros at a Swiss bank Zurich Cantonal Bank on false IDs.[3]

Ransdorf was involved in four car accidents, what led to speculations about drunk driving.[4]
