Murray Browne is a former Australian Rules Football player for Collingwood and Fitzroy in the Australian Football League (AFL). His son Alex played for Essendon in the AFL.

Browne played his junior football at Watsonia Football Club in the Diamond Valley League before joining the Magpies in 1981 at 18 years of age.

Browne played 53 AFL matches for Collingwood between 1981 and 1985, and Fitzroy in 1986. Playing mainly as a defender he kicked a total of 6 goals.[2][3]

After his playing career Browne worked as skills coach at Collingwood and opposition analyst at Port Adelaide. He also coached Marcellin Old Collegians in the VAFA to the 2008 premiership.

He is a former president of the Collingwood Past Players Association and is currently the past player director with the AFL Players Association (AFLPA). Opp [4]

In working life Browne is a certified financial planner and licenced mortgage broker and operates his own financial planning practice, MBA Financial Group, in Melbourne.

He is also a justice of the peace.
