The Nuclear Industry Association is the trade association for the civil nuclear industry in the United Kingdom.

History

It began as the British Nuclear Forum in 1963.

It was registered as a company on 29 March 1993.

Structure

It is situated on Southampton Street in Covent Garden, London. The World Nuclear Association is based in the same building.

Function

The Nuclear Industry Association represents more than 270 companies from across the civil nuclear industry supply chain. Its member companies have significant expertise in nuclear decommissioning, operations and new build. It aims to improve the commercial performance of its members in the UK and overseas as well as engaging with the public, media and political spheres to promote understanding of nuclear energy and its roles within a low carbon mix. It publishes the quarterly magazine, Industry Link and it represents over 65,000 workers in the industry.
