The term Pahari Rajput refers to a number of Pahari-speaking Rajput clans found along the southern slopes of the Pir Panjal in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani-administered Azad Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.[citation needed]

Historically, princes among the Pahari Rajputs were important patrons of art, and in particular of paintings themed on religious subjects.[1]
