The Payne Center is the University of Southern Mississippi's recreational sports center. The center houses high tech workout equipment as well as the offices of Recreational and Intramural sports.[1] Southern Miss currently has one of the highest intramural sports participation rates in the country among its students.
The building offers students the "No Payne No Gain" program[2] as well as offering a walking track suspended above the multi-use courts to provide a place to walk in inclement weather.
The Payne Center was donated from brothers Jimmy and Larry Payne.
