Peremyshl (Russian: Перемы́шль) is a rural locality (a selo) and the administrative center of Peremyshlsky District of Kaluga Oblast, Russia. Population: 3,279 (2010 Census);[1] 3,235 (2002 Census);[2] 3,168 (1989 Census).[3]
Formerly a capital of one of the Upper Oka Principalities, Peremyshl contains the ruins of a mid-16th century cathedral which collapsed in the 1980s from neglect. For descendants of the local rulers, see Vorotynsky and Gorchakov.
