Ranjit Desai (Marathi: रणजित देसाई) (1928–1992) was a popular Marathi writer from Maharashtra, India. He was born in Maratha family. He is best known for his historical novels "Swami" and "Shriman Yogi". He was awarded Sahitya Akademi Award in 1964 and Padma Shri in 1973.[1]

He was born in 1928 in the town of Kowad in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra.

Works

"Swami" and "Shriman Yogi" are considered to be his most prominent creations. He was awarded Sahitya Akademi Award in 1964 for his novel "Swami".
