Rideshare advertising is a form of digital, out-of-home advertising that uses in-car advertisements in ridesharing vehicles.[1][2]

Technology

Rideshare advertising is performed through digital display screens in the backseat of rideshare vehicles. Drivers contract with rideshare advertising companies and ad displays are controlled by the company.[2]

Reception

Some rideshare companies such as Uber disapprove of rideshare advertising of companies including Vugo, claiming that it does not add to the value of passenger experience.[3] Uber has recommended that drivers do not participate in rideshare advertising, but stated that they recommend so as employees advising other employees due to drivers being independent contractors and not employees of the company.[4]
