History

Before Robinsons Galleria, This mall used to be and open land owned by SSS at Ortigas CBD. In 1986, the portion of the land facing EDSA became part of the People Power Revolution in where the tanks going to Camp Aguinaldo and Camp Crame were stopped in this spot. In 1987, John Gokongwei bought the large portion of the land from SSS (The Archdiocese of Manila partly purchased the intersection portion of the land). Construction began in mid-1988 and finished on late-1989. The Mall opened in 1990 being the first mall of Robinsons Malls. In 1997, the mall expanded with opening of the North Section of the mall. In 2005, The mall began its 1st Renovation. In 2010 Galleria's 20th Year, The mall began renovating the exteriors and interiors with new elevators and the addition of The Veranda, an al fresco Dining partly similar to Greenbelt Mall in Makati.
