Dr S Venkata Mohan (born 1 July 1970) is an Indian engineer who has specialization in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Biotechnology, Bioenergy, Bioengineering.[1] He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 2014.[2][3][4]

Dr.S.Venkata Mohan has received B.Tech. (1991), M.Tech. (1993) and PhD (1998) with Civil/Environmental Engineering as specialization from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, India. Currently, he is working as Principal Scientist in CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad since 1998. Dr. Mohan’s focal objective of research is to develop integrated and sustainable waste remediation technologies giving prime emphasis on sustainable biofuel production viz. biohydrogen (acidogenic fermentation), bioelectricity (microbial fuel cell (MFC)), etc. and resource recovery from waste through production of biobased products viz., bioplastics, fatty acids, biodiesel, etc. from waste besides treatment in the frame work of 'waste biorefinery'.
