Samy D. is a Tel Aviv based ceramic artist.[1][2]

His studio is located in Tel Aviv's hip Neve Zedek neighborhood.[3][4][5][6][7]

His works are well published in dominant design and fashion journals and are held at the homes and galleries of important art collectors around the world. Samy D.'s store in Shabazi st., Neve-Zedek, lead a significant change in the Israeli world of ceramic functional art: it is for the first time that a dominant studio continuously presents the works of an artist, bearing his individual signature and its dynamics along the years. This signature is characterized by innovative and humoresque lines interwoven with ever- classic fineness.[8]

Samy D. had been selected by EL AL Israel Airlines to design the dishes for breakfast in its first class compartment. Along with his high-quality industrial series, Samy D. produces one-off creation as well – hand built, on a potter's wheel or using jigger – many of which are coated with 14 karat gold.[8]

One series of pieces are etched with micrographic passages from the Book of Genesis, some in Hebrew, some from the Vulgate. The text begins in even swirls but becomes "twisted and warped," at the verse where man is created.[9]
