Sant Sipahi (English: Saint-Soldier) was the ideological shift of the Sikhs under the inspiration of the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind, following the execution of his predecessor, Guru Arjan Dev.

Guru Gobind Singh (Tenth guru of Sikhs) too was an inspiration for the concept of Sant Sipahi It means a saint soldier who would only raise his sword to protect religion & humanity. He has to be a dedicated person to god and shouldn't offend. His first priority is supposed to be defense.
