Sassofortino

Sassofortino is a village in Tuscany, central Italy, administratively a frazione of the comune of Roccastrada, province of Grosseto. At the time of the 2001 census its population amounted to 815.[1]
Sassofortino is a hilly medieval village situated about 33 km from Grosseto and 8 km from Roccastrada.
Main sights
- Church of San Michele Arcangelo (14th century), main parish church of the village. It was restructured in 1893.
- Castle of Sassoforte, an 11th-century fortress, now in ruins.
