The Chinese pond mussel, Eastern Asiatic freshwater clam or swan-mussel, scientific name Sinanodonta (Anodonta) woodiana, is a species of freshwater mussel, an aquatic bivalve mollusk in the family Unionidae, the river mussels.

Ecology

Anodonta (Sinanodonta) woodiana, a species of East Asian unionid mussel, established worldwide despite having an obligatory parasitic stage (glochidium), which must encyst on host fish. The species is a broad host generalist, which can complete its development on all fish species tested, both coinvasive and native.[10]
