Sinead Desmond

Sinead Desmond is an Irish television presenter. For most of her career she has worked as journalist in both Ireland and the United Kingdom, writing for publications including the monthly food magazine for The Observer newspaper, Marie Claire and Vogue magazines in the UK; and The Sun in both the UK and Ireland.[1]

Career

Sinéad Desmond is the co-anchor of TV3 breakfast show Ireland AM. Having spent most of her career as a newspaper journalist with The Sun both in Britain and Ireland as features and deputy features editor respectively, Sinead brings a wealth of journalistic talent to the number one breakfast show.

Personal Life

She is a fluent speaker in French, German and Italian, also holds a BA Hons in English and Drama and studied Film and Television at Leeds University.

On 10 June 2008, Sinead was rushed to hospital having suffered a brain haemorrhage on the set of Ireland AM. She made a full recovery and was released from hospital.[2]

Sinéad married yachtsman David Ryan in the south of France in May 2009, but the pair separated in 2013. [3]

In September 2009, after suffering altitude sickness, she was rescued by a helicopter on Mont Blanc.[2]

In 2014 she danced in the Breast Cancer Ireland's Strictly Against Breast Cancer Fundraiser.[4]
