Straumsnes or Strømsnes is a village in the municipality of Fauske in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Valnesfjord area of Fauske. The town of Fauske lies 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) to the east and the town of Bodø lies about 40 kilometres (25 mi) to the west. The village sits just inland of the Skjerstadfjorden, along the southern shore of the lake Valnesfjordvatnet.[3]
The 0.61-square-kilometre (150-acre) village has a population (2013) of 475. The population density of the village area is 779 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,020/sq mi).[1] Valnesfjord Church is located on the southern side of the village area.
