WSLQ (99.1 FM) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Roanoke, Virginia, serving the New River Valley and Southwest Virginia. The station is owned and operated by Mel Wheeler, Inc.[2] and broadcasts an Adult Contemporary format. WSLQ has one of the nine largest coverage areas of all FM radio stations in the United States.[3] Its effective radiated power exceeds the current limit set by the Federal Communications Commission for Class C FM radio stations.[4][5]
