The Wonder Girls World Tour was a 20-show tour by the Wonder Girls that took place in the US and Canada. The tour showcased the English and Korean versions of their hits, covers of popular English-language songs, and new songs from their album 2 Different Tears.[1]

The Wonder Girls' reception in North America was very positive. The Wonder Girls were named House of Blues "Artist of the Month" for June 2010[2] and many of their shows were sold out and packed full.[3][4][5]

Special guests

2PM

On April 5, 2010, the Wonder Girls World Tour began, including fellow label mates 2PM who joined them for 9 dates in Washington DC, Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Francisco in conjunction with Live Nation.[6]

2PM’s Junsu suffered a leg injury in May 2010, and was unable to take part in the first week of the tour.[7] However, Junsu recovered in time to participate in the last three shows in Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Francisco.[8]

In May 2010, eight more US cities and two Canadian cities were added to the second leg of the Wonder World Tour. It was announced that label mates 2AM would open for the Wonder Girls in San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Englewood, Chicago,[9] and Seattle.

JYP

A spokesperson for JYP Entertainment announced on June 21 that producer and singer Park Jin-young would participate in Hawaii as an opening act for the Wonder Girls.[10]

Made in Wonder Girls

During the tour, Mnet.com released teasers for Wonder Girls' reality program called Made in Wonder Girls.

Starting from June 28, fans were able to watch short clips of the Washington DC, New York, and Chicago concerts, the reaction of the audience, the girls praying before taking the stage, and even their opening act during the first leg of their tour, 2PM. Mnet continued showing short clips of the tour until July 22 with the next batch being about the “Behind the Story” of Wonder Girls and 2PM.

As this was a small part of the footage that Mnet had on the Wonder Girls World Tour, they started airing Made in Wonder Girls on Mnet’s TV channel on July 30.[13]
