Yuto Shinohara (篠原 悠人, born 15 May 1998) is a Japanese kickboxer, currently competing with K-1. He is the former Krush Super Lightweight champion.

He was ranked in the bantamweight top ten by Combat Press between February 2019[1] and June 2020.[2]

Kickboxing career

Shinohara made his debut at Hoost Cup Kings West, when he was scheduled to fight Tasuku Kido.[3] He won the fight by a first round KO.[4] He won his next two fights against Shinichiro Kawasaki and Yuki Koge, before suffering his first professional loss to Daiki Matsushita at Krush 67.[5] He won his next fight against Tatsuya Mineyama, before fighting[6] and losing against Jun Nakazawa at Krush 73.[7]

Following this loss, Shinohara went on a five fight winning streak, during which he knocked out Kensei Kondo, FUMIYA twice and won decisions against Hayato Suzuki and Takaki Hosogoe.[8] Shinohara fought Jun Nakazawa for the Krush Super Lightweight title at Krush 91. He extended his winning streak to six, as he won the fight by split decision.[9]

Shinohara participated in the 2018 K-1 Lightweight Grand Prix. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Gonnapar Weerasakreck by a second round TKO. He lost the semifinal bout against Kenta Hayashi by a first round knockout.[10]

He bounced back with decision wins against Fumiya Osawa and Shinichiro Kawasaki, before being scheduled to defend his Krush title in a rematch with Gonnapar Weerasakreck.[11][12] He lost the fight by unanimous decision.[13]

Shinohara was scheduled to fight Koya Urabe at K-1 World GP 2020 in Osaka. The fight went into an extra round, after which Shinohara lost a decision.[14] For his next fight, Shinohara was scheduled to fight Yuma Saikyo at K'Festa 4.[15] The event was later rescheduled for March 31, 2021.[16] He lost the fight by split decision.[17]

Shinohara was scheduled to face Toshiki Taniyama at K-1 World GP 2021: Yokohamatsuri on September 20, 2021.[18] He won the fight by unanimous decision.[19]

Shinohara was scheduled to face Katsuki Ishida at K-1 World GP 2021 in Osaka on December 4, 2021. He won the fight by unanimous decision.[20]

Shinohara was scheduled to face Shuji Kawarada at K-1 World GP 2022 Japan on February 27, 2022.[21] He won the fight by unanimous decision.[22]

Shinohara faced the promotional newcomer Yuki Yoza at K-1 World GP 2022 in Fukuoka on August 11, 2022.[23]
