Overview

This was the seventh and final Gauliga season, and the 34th season of competition overall.

The division was contested by 10 teams, including 1.Klasse play-off winners SK Admira Wien & runners-up SC Rapid Oberlaa as replacements for LSV Markersdorf an der Pielach (withdrew at the end of last season) & SK Amateure Steyr (withdrawn 2 games from the end of last season).

As the Division was being expanded for next season from 10 to 12 clubs, no relegation took place.

Note 1 - The fixture between Wiener Sportclub & SC Rapid Oberlaa was abandoned; this game was recorded as a 0-0 LOSS against both sides, which explains why there appear to be two more losses than victories.
