Altarniyuq (Spanish altar altar, Quechua -ni, -yuq suffixes,[2] "the one with an altar", Hispanicized spelling Altarniyoc) is a 5,356-metre-high (17,572 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Central in the Andes of Peru. It is located in the Lima Region, Yauyos Province, on the border of the districts of Miraflores and Tanta. Altarniyuq lies southeast of a lake named Pisququcha, southwest of the peak of Uman and northeast of Wayna Qutuni and Qutuni of the Pichqa Waqra mountain range.[1][3]
