Bana clan

Bana is a gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh in India. Banas are descendants of King Banasur. Their capital was at Bayana in Bharatpur. The Vana Ganga river gets name from Banas.[1][page needed]

Bana is a Rigvedic ruling clan. Byawar near Ajmer and Bhadawar, Kadiyar Khanda in Bikaner, Giradhpur, Chitauli, Mohiuddinpur Lalsana and Chandaudi etc. famous villages of Meerut are inhabited by Bana Jats.[2]

There is also a Bana River which is situated near Bikaner in Rajasthan.
