Desmond "Des" J. Case (birth registered April→June 1918 (age 105–106)[1]) birth registered in Newport district, is a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1930s and 1940s, playing club level rugby union (RU) for Cross Keys RFC, and Newport RFC, and playing representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales, and at club level for Bradford Northern, as a Wing, Centre, i.e. number 2 or 5, or 3 or 4.[2] Des Case was a Sergeant Major in the British Army during World War II.[3]

Des Case played in Bradford Northern's 5-15 defeat by Warrington in the Championship final during the 1947–48 season at Maine Road, Manchester on Saturday 8 May 1948.[5]
Challenge Cup Final Appearances
Des Case played Centre, i.e. number 3 in Bradford Northern's 3-8 defeat by Wigan in the 1948 Challenge Cup final during the 1947–48 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 1 May 1948.[6]

Des Case's marriage to Betty Ackland (birth registered October→December 1918 (age 105–106) in Newport district) was registered during October→December 1939 in Caerleon district.[7] They had children; John C. Case (birth registered July→September 1941 (age 82–83) in Bedwellty district), Christine Case (birth registered October→December 1948 (age 75–76) in Bedwellty district), and Marion Case (birth registered October→December 1952 (age 71–72) in Pontypool district).
