Discovery Point
Discovery Point (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.) is a point formed of glacial moraine, marking the west side of the entrance to Moraine Fjord, South Georgia. It was first surveyed by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition, 1901–04, under Otto Nordenskiöld, and probably named by Discovery Investigations personnel in the period following their surveys of 1926–31, presumably for their organization or their ships, the Discovery or Discovery II, which were utilized in the surveys of South Georgia.[1]
A low moraine ridge, Zenker Ridge, extends southwest from Discovery Point to Osmic Hill.
