Eyjólfur Héðinsson (born 1 January 1985 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic footballer, who plays as a midfielder for Stjarnan.

Eyjólfur Héðinsson, sometimes called "gyðingur",[1] started his football career at ÍR. There he was early recognized as a promising player and was simply outstanding in his age. In 1995 he was voted as the best player at Shellmótið-cup and he got his first taste of international football at the age 17 when he led U-17 team for Iceland as captain.[2] Eyjólfur is a friend of the Icelandic track & field athlete Trausti Stefánsson.

SønderjyskE

After his contract ended with GAIS at the start of 2011, Hedinsson went for a trial with SønderjyskE. He was described by the chairman of SønderjyskE as an offensive box-to-box midfielder.[3] After a week of trial, he was offered a contract. Hedinsson granted the offer made by SønderjyskE and signed a contract lasting until June 2013.[4] Hedinsson was seen by the media as a direct replacement for Rasmus Hansen who had joined Danish Superliga side Randers FC. During his time at SønderjyskE, Hedinsson has evolved into one of the most important players in the Danish side. Hedinsson wishes to stay at the club but has been rumored to other nations such as Belgium and the Netherlands. <templatestyles src="Template:Quote_box/styles.css" />
