Henri II de Villars

Henri de Villars (??? - 1354 ) was a French prelate of the 14th century.[1] He was the son of Humbert IV, of Thoire and Villars and Leonora de Beaujeu, and a nephew of the Archbishop Louis Villars .
Henri de Villars was canon-count of the chapter in Lyon, then sacristan and Chamarier. In 1333 he was appointed Bishop of Viviers and in 1336 and Bishop of Valence.[2] In 1342 he was elected achevêque of Lyon, a position which makes him Primate of Gaul.[3][4]
In 1343 (April 28), the Dauphin Humbert II appointed him vicar of the Dauphiné , which will be the last governor before the actual sale of the principality to France in 1349 .
