Margarita Louis-Dreyfus is a Russian-born Swiss billionaire businesswoman, chairman of Louis Dreyfus and the owner of Olympique de Marseille football team.

Early life

She was born Margarita Bogdanova in Leningrad (now St Petersburg,) grew up in an orphanage and studied in a trade school as a retail accountant.

Personal life

In 1988, on a Zurich to London flight, she met Robert Louis-Dreyfus. They married in 1992, and Margarita, who had been working for a circuit-board equipment seller, became a full-time wife and mother.[2] She took over as chairman of the Louis Dreyfus Group in 2009, following her husband's death from leukemia.[3]

In 2015, she had a net worth of $8.4 billion. She is a Swiss citizen living in Zurich and has three children/sons (Éric born in 1992, and twins, Maurice and Kirill, born in 1998) according to Forbes.[3] Her partner is Philipp Hildebrand, the former head of the Swiss central bank.[4] She gave birth to twin girls on March 21, 2016.[5]
